ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene)
Introducing ETFE, a polymer with unparalleled resistance
Our Advecton ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) is a fluorine-based high-performance plastic. ETFE is a polymer, and its source-based name is poly(ethene-co-tetrafluoroethene). ETFE has a relatively high melting temperature, excellent chemical, electrical, and high-energy radiation resistance properties, and UV resistance. ETFE is very useful for impact resistance and good stress resistance. ETFE properties remain stable at continuous working temperatures, even up to 150 °C. ETFE is used for various applications in the chemical industry and equipment. It is also showing excellent resistance to solvents, acids, and bases.
ETFE fluoropolymer comes in various forms like powder and granules, and it’s suitable to process by different methods like injection moulding, transfer moulding, compression moulding, and blow moulding process. It's also used for rotational lining on various equipment. Our development of new grades is ongoing, but some of our grades are well established in the market, like wire and cable grade with precolured granules. Grades used for ETFE sheets are also performing well. Similar to other fluropolymers, ETFE has a wide range of MFI from low to high, which is available in various colours if required.
We also offer UL-certified ETFE grades for wire and cables.
